Kayla has been dancing for over 14 years. She started at the age of four and has been competing since the age of 10. Both competitively and recreationally, she has trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, tap, modern, and hip-hop. Her favorite style is musical theatre because she loves the performance and excitement of it!

 

Kayla is currently a student at University of Delaware as a Business major. A recent graduate of Middletown High School, she participated in her school’s theatre and color guard programs as a featured dancer and dance captain. In these programs, she gained more experience in the arts and had the opportunity to choreograph solo and group performances.

 

Through these activities and her experience assisting with young dancers, Kayla developed a love for teaching dance. She believes for every dancer to succeed they must be encouraged and challenged in a supportive environment. Kayla’s goal is to share her passion and knowledge of the art while making every dancer feel loved. She hopes to help her students gain confidence while doing what they love, and she is so excited to be working with the Illumination team this year!
